It's been close to a year ever since this blog had seen a new post so here's a quick update :)
22/06/12 (friday)
In the morning, our dearest sec ones were enrolled, in the new compound so it was pretty exciting, considering we have around 40 sec ones (if i didn'r remember wrongly) in guides this year. Probably one of the most ever. CONGRADUATION to all the sec ones who got enrolled, especially our patrol's precious enda, jolene and melissa. :) Wear your uniform with pride kay! :)
After that, we had outdoor cooking and we cooked mee goreng. I gotta, admit, it turns out really successfully. Guess it was the paste that gives it the Malay-ish fragrance and make the whole dish Malay like. Haha you get what I mean ;) The paste is the most important thing! With the right paste, you can add anything and you would still get quite the same taste (well...sort of)
At the end of the day, we had Guides Own, where we wrote letters to everyone and to thank them. Sorry to all those i couldn't write back to! I'm still in the process of writing your letters. Will try to give it to you guys by this week/next week :)
23/06/12
First thing in the morning, we had PT. It was pretty tiring and we lost in a game of hand untangling and had to spell Mississippi (did i spell it correctly?) with our butt. Then we had internal campfire. Haha it was a great one. The storyline was really epic and quite touching when we realise what was the meaning behind the story :) We did the line dance to girlfriend by avril lavgine and it turns out pretty well. So yeap, well done to all the Ixorians and those in Sparrow! *round of applause* and give yourself a pat on the should GOOD JOB GUYS! :)
And then the oh-so-sad farewell came. It wasn't that emotional this year though. It has been a great 3 and a half year with the Greys and we will definitely miss you guys! :) All the best for your future.
Lastly came promotion..drumroll?
Conrgulation to entian for being promoted to CL. You've done a really great job this past year and yeap, we ixora never forget you! You've been a very awesome, funny and great friend! :)
Congrulation madelene being our new PS. You've really change ALOT since sec one and we hope that you would release your potential and shine brightly in guides! :)
Michelle, thanks for being such a great patrol member and friend. Haha you're really funny and epic. A Thanks for everything :)
Nicolette, don't be disheartened that you aren't promoted kay. Thanks for being such a great junior and you are also a precious part of ixora. Never forget that! :)
Ayana and Samantha, you guys have been really fantastic seniors. Thank you for all you have done for us and all the happy memories we shared. We will never forget you guys! You guys have been etched in our hearts forever! :) All the best for your future.
All in all, thank you all IXORIANS for being such a great patrol member and for everything you have done. You guys are the best patrol members I could ever ask for. LOVE YOU GUYS!
Oh yes, not to forget, do you guys want a patrol outing? I was think of paintball. How does it sound? Or do you guys want to have a day out going around Singapore kinda outing? Let me know yea ;)

hello all!
congrats to the sec ones for finally getting enrolled!!! hahahha really finally! hahaha im a little high now 'cause i only have two tests next week! and one is chinese, so less studying! hahahah!
oh yes! and i still owe all of you letters! im only half-done! HEH i shall try to finish this weekend and give you guys on tuesday! :D i shall post our patrol picture here too!

OH OH I FORGOT TO MENTION!
Ayana and I have been thinking 'bout a patrol outing? To bid the sec fours and entian farewell as well as to welcome Alicia!
Since everyone seems pretty busy during the June holidays, we were thinking of when school reopens? Like, just a simple lunch or something after school. Then bowling or a movie afterwards? How does that tuesday week 1 sound? :D
Or would you guys want a proper, whole-day kinda thing?

You've both taught us so much and I really hope we'll be able to do as great a job as you guys've done in nurturing us :] We will reeeeaaaally miss you guys :'( Hope you'll be able to come back for patrol meetings and guides sessions and stuff, yeah? Wish you guys luck in the future and especially for your Os!

Yeah, so...
Entian's now PS of sparrow. We will really miss you so much. You've been a great addition to ixora, always so smart and calm and cool and caring and everything. You've done us so proud and though you'll no longer be with us, we're very glad that we've had the chance to work with you. I'm sure you'll do guh-reat with geraldine in sparrow and enjoy yourself very much there, but don't forget us either, k? :')
So now we've got our new PS, Alicia! :D Welcome to ixora!!! I've never actually got to work with you before, so I look forward to our next year working together :] I know you'll make a fantastic PS and lead our patrol well (or else we'll get entian to come after you heh heh heh) You'll learn the ropes along the way and if you ever ever need help feel free to come to any of us! Yup.
Michelle, though you weren't promoted, we all still very much recognise and acknowledge all the leadership potential in you. Please know that there're so many other ways you can contribute to guides and that you will get many many other oppurtunities to lead and bring SNGG to greater heights. Don't let this get in the way of your shining passion for guides :]
AYANA! :D You were an A M A Z I N G ps and you'll make an even more amazing pl. So glad and honoured to be your patrol member. We definitely wouldn't be where we are now without you (: Thanks tons!

Camp Wanted '11 ended yesterday! It was a huge success despite minor hiccups along the way so a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to the whites who planned this camp so well, especially for the hike we managed to have this year. :)
Okay so, Farewell and Promotion was a really emotional affair. We bade farewell to a wonderful Patrol Leader, Jaclyn and a wonderful patrol member, Vanessa. To top that off, En Tian was promoted to Patrol Second of Sparrow. And that means we bid another member adieu. :( Not to forget, our new Patrol Second is Alicia from KFC and Sam is our new CL! :) The transfers and farewells were really emotional and all but we have to embrace the change!:)
On the bright side, we have not lost a member, we've only gained one. :D We'll miss Jaclyn, Vanessa and En Tian but they will always be a part of IXORA!
JACLYN
Thank you for being the best leader ever and giving your all to Ixora. You've been an amazing senior, teaching us, guiding us and just being there for us. Thank you for all the amazing memories we had together as a team for Outdoor Challenge, as a committee in Emcee and as a pair leading ixora. You've been the best role model to me and I still have much more to learn from you as a leader of ixora and as a guide. I'll really miss your bright and exuberant personality! :D

Thank you for being a lovely senior and a part of Ixora. 2 and a half years have come and gone and although i still haven't really got to know you very well and still am not very close to you, you are really delightful to be around. I'll really miss your humour and the laughter you bring in patrol meetings! :)

Congratulations on being promoted to PS! Although technically you won't be in ixora anymore, you will alwaysalways be a part of ixora and we will alwaysalways remember you as an ixorian and as that sweet 'n' smart girl. I know you'll be able to work with geraldine well to lead Sparrow. We all recognise that potential in you so keep on shining! :)

Congratulations on being promoted to PS and welcome to ixora! You have been delightful to work with for camp challenge and i hope we will continue to work well with one another to lead ixora from now on. I know you'll miss KFC and all and though it this change is difficult, I hope you will keep your guiding light burnin even in Ixora. :)
Oh yes, MICHELLE, don't worry we have definitely not forgotten about you! Like Ms Law said, there are only so many positions available in Guides and we can't possibly promote all of you so although you were not promoted, i hope your passion will only grow stronger and stronger from now. There are still manymany more opportunities for you to contribute and shine in guides! :)
